Hi – I’m Peter Loader, the owner of PL Insights. I am passionate about helping senior executives make better, more informed business decisions by using the outputs from advanced analytical techniques.
I also believe in dealing with clients as I would like to be dealt with myself, operating with high ethical standards and ensuring my work is aligned to my clients’ goals.
To help you decide whether my skills, knowledge and experience could be useful to you, I’ve summarised my career history below:
1984 – 1987 Exeter University – studying Mathematical Statistics and Operational Research
This is where it all started – operational research is the application of mathematical techniques in business. Techniques include simulation, forecasting, regression and more. I still follow Exeter City Football Club for my sins and have a model railway encompassing the Dawlish seawall.
1987 – 2004 Lanner Group
I started out as a consultant building computer simulation models ranging from manufacturing production lines, shipping networks and warehouses to banks and call centres. I then moved to the commercial side, which is where I learned to better understand our clients’ goals and ensure that our work was aligned to these.
2004 – 2022 Process Evolution
I founded Process Evolution with colleagues to harness the power of computer simulation with a suite of other business analytics and predictive modelling tools, creating the evidence-based approach to change. Although we had clients across many sectors, our focus was on helping the emergency services manage demand more effectively and efficiently
2022 – PL Insights
I relinquished my position as a director of Process Evolution when it merged with ORH in 2022. I founded PL Insights to enable me to carry on providing “insights with acumen” to clients using business analytics and predictive modelling techniques. I am available to provide general advice and deliver assignments, and can draw upon a network of trusted associates to provide additional capacity and complementary skills.
